Buffalo Sabres Evander Kane will miss approximately four to six weeks after an MCL injury.

Dan Bylsma said Kane won’t require surgery after hurting his medial collateral ligament.

Kane sustained the injury during the third period of a 4-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils when he was checked into the boards by New Jersey Devils defenseman David Schlemko.

Kane has one goal and two assists in eight games this season and his 28 shots on goal are on the Sabres behind Tyler Ennis.

With the Sabres off to a 2-6 start and sitting last in the Atlantic Division, management might look at making some trades.
