Now that NHL All-Star weekend is approaching, that means NHL trade rumors will start to pick up as teams are thinking about making trades to secure a playoff spot or for a deep Stanley Cup run.
One player that could be traded to a playoff contender is defenseamn Erik Karlsson. He has been on a torrid scoring pace this season with 64 points (15g, 49a) in 50 games which puts him on pace for 105 points this season.
Buffalo interested in an Erik Karlsson trade?
TSN’s Director of Scouting Craig Button had a TV hit on TSN where he was discussing the top five best fits for tradeable players at the NHL trade deadline and mentioned Erik Karlsson going to Buffalo.
Button went on to say in his TV piece that Erik Karlsson to Buffalo makes sense. Button feels Sabres are the only team that can do it salary cap wise and doesn’t see a fit anywhere else for him.

Less ice time for Erik Karlsson in Buffalo with Rasmus Dahlin…not sure its a good fit
Awful idea. Their defense will be great in a few years with the maturing of Dahlin and Owen Power. They SHOULD however get Timo Meier to go beside Cozens.
It makes no sense for us to invest that much cap space on 3 defenseman but being able to roll out Karlsson, Dahlin, Power would be disgusting.
