Elias Lindholm has been making the rounds in the NHL trade rumors mill since the start of July. Trade talk has been plenty on Lindholm because the Calgary Flames are trying to re-sign the forward and nothing has progressed.
The Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals have been tied to a Lindholm trade but the NHL’s hard salary cap is making it tough for teams to make moves.
Will the Calgary Flames re-sign Elias Lindholm?
There are NHL trade rumors circulating about Calgary Flames GM Craig Conroy holding discussions with Elias Lindholm regarding a potential multi-year contract valued at $8-$9 million annually.
According to a recent appearance by Elliotte Friedman on the NHL Network, contract negotiations between Lindholm and the Flames have stalled. It was confirmed that the proposed salary being discussed is in the range of $8-$9 million per year.
If Lindholm is unable to work out an extension with the Flames, it is believed his likely trade destination will be the Boston Bruins.
