Jakob Chychrun was the hot name in the NHL trade rumor mill all season long but ultimately the Arizona Coyotes could not find a deal to trade the defenceman.
Chychrun has a very salary cap friendly hit and rumors are now circulating that he does not want to be part of a rebuild. He would like to play for a playoff contender.
Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports that Chychrun does not know about his future as a Coyote. “I don’t know. I’m signed for 3 more years. The trajectory of where the team is going & a lot of that stuff is important to me. I want to be in a position where I’m getting to play a week from now, not packing up.”
Chychrun went on to say, a lot of it is out of my control. There’s stuff that goes on that is going to work itself out this summer. My mentality, my preparation isn’t going to change.
It appears Chychrun is tired of the Coyotes constantly being in a rebuild mode. He is a very competitive player and the Yotes are a long way from being a competitive team.
