In the latest NHL rumors can the Vancouver Canucks re-sign Brock Boeser? If they can't he will be traded this offseason.

In the latest NHL rumors roundup, questions are starting to float around on what the Vancouver Canucks will do with Brock Boeser in 2022?

With J.T. Miller and Bo Horvat due new contracts in 2024 and Elias Pettersson and rookie Vasily Podkolzina having new contracts in 2025, that leaves pending RFA Boeser possibly the odd man out.

Iain MacIntyre of Sportsnet reports the Canucks core will have to change and the most vulnerable player to be traded is Brock Boeser.

MacIntyre went on to say, the $5.875-million salary on his bridge deal has been reasonable, the looming qualifying offer of $7.5-million for Boeser is not.

It is likely Boeser will be seek a $8-$8.5 million contract extension, which the Canucks just cannot afford under the current salary cap.

NHL trade rumors were circulated earlier in the season that the Canucks could look into trading Miller or Horvat and if that happens Vancouver might find the money to re-sign Boeser.
