It appears that the Boston Bruins are looking to make a big splash and add some firepower to their top six. According to rumors, the Bruins have expressed interest in Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras.
Zegras, 23, is a highly skilled and dynamic player who would be a great addition to any team. He is still playing under his bridge deal, and carries a cap hit of just $5.75 million. However, he has struggled to score this season, with just 1 goal and 2 assists in 14 games. A change of scenery might do him well, and Boston would be a great fit.
The Bruins have a strong core of veterans, including Elias Lindholm, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak. Adding Zegras would give them another offensive weapon and make them even more dangerous.
What Would a Trade for Trevor Zegras Look Like?
The asking price for Zegras is likely to be high. The Ducks are not going to give him away for nothing. It is rumored that the Bruins would have to give up a first-round pick and a top prospect in order to land Zegras.
This is a high price to pay, but Zegras is a player who could make a real difference for the Bruins. He is a young player with a lot of potential. If he can regain his scoring touch, he could be a star in Boston for many years to come.
My Take:
I think this would be a great move for the Bruins. They need to add some scoring punch to their lineup, and Zegras would provide that. He is a young player with a lot of upside. I think he would thrive in Boston playing with some of the best players in the league.
However, I do think the asking price is a bit high. I’m not sure I would be willing to give up a first-round pick and a top prospect for a player who has struggled to score the past two seasons. Perhaps a first-round pick and a mid-level prospect would be a more reasonable offer.
It will be interesting to see what happens with this rumor. Stay tuned for updates.
