Brock Boeser skating with the Vancouver Canucks amid NHL trade rumors
Brock Boeser rumors heat up as the Canucks winger eyes free agency. The Rangers, Wild, and Red Wings are top contenders to sign him this offseason.

There’s no shortage of buzz swirling around Brock Boeser rumors this offseason as the Vancouver Canucks begin retooling their roster. With whispers of Quinn Hughes potentially joining his brothers in New Jersey, all eyes have now shifted toward Boeser and whether he’ll return to Vancouver or find a new home through free agency.

Will Brock Boeser Leave Vancouver in Free Agency?

According to Canucks insider Patrick Johnston, Boeser, 28, is set to hit the open market on July 1. Though Canucks management hasn’t shut the door on bringing him back, the expectation is that Boeser will at least explore his value in free agency. The big question: who’s in on Boeser?

New York Rangers

The New York Rangers are reportedly one of the front-runners in the Brock Boeser sweepstakes. After coming up short in making the playoffs, the Rangers need an offensive injection—particularly on the wing. Boeser’s scoring touch and power-play prowess make him a natural fit alongside elite talent like Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad. If GM Chris Drury is serious about pushing for a Stanley Cup, this is a move that makes sense.

Minnesota Wild

A potential homecoming could be in store for Boeser if he joins the Minnesota Wild. The Wild are finally getting cap relief from the Zach Parise and Ryan Suter buyouts, giving GM Bill Guerin the flexibility to make a splash. Boeser, a native of Burnsville, Minnesota, would bring not only skill but local star power. This would be a feel-good signing that also addresses a major need.

Detroit Red Wings

Detroit has now missed the playoffs for nine straight seasons, and GM Steve Yzerman is feeling the pressure. The Wings need a top-six winger who can finish plays and help mentor their younger core. Boeser fits that mold perfectly and could be a top-line option in Motown.

It’s expected that Boeser will command a deal in the $8 to $9 million range annually over seven years. Teams will need both cap space and a strong sales pitch to land the sniper.
