The Columbus Blue Jackets are looking to retool the team and get back into playoff contention next season after a very disappointing year.

The Blue Jackets are weak in the center position and will be looking to make a trade this offseason. Rumors could change if the Blue Jackets land the #1 overall pick in the 2023 NHL entry draft.

Blue Jackets interested in a Matt Duchene trade

NHL rumors are starting to circulate that the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Nashville Predators have interest in being trade partners.

Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekäläinen has interest in forward Matt Duchene and the Blue Jackets are looking to unload Jack Roslovic. Could some sort of deal be worked out between the two teams?

Duchene did suffer a serious finger injury on March 26, 2023 against the Toronto Maple Leafs where he lost part of his finger tip. He has said he has full strength in his hand and will be fully recovered by the summer.

What are NHL fans saying about a potential Matt Duchene trade?

I see a three team trade happening. I could see Jack Roslovic going to Washington, Evgeni Kuznetsov going to Nashville, and Matt Duchene going to Columbus.

I just can’t see Jarmo being interested in bringing Duchene back.
