Alex Pietrangelo has agreed to terms on a new seven-year, $45.5 million contract with the St. Louis Blues.
The deal has an average annual value of $6.5 million.
“We’re excited to have Alex in the fold for the next seven years as he will continue be a key component of our franchise,” said Blues general manager Doug Armstrong in a statement. “He is an elite defenceman in this league and will be for years to come.”
Pietrangelo, 23, played in 47 games for the Blues last season with five goals and 19 assists.
