Chris Johnston was on TSN Insiders Trading and stated, Rask could be an option for another team beside the Bruins. He’s been working out at their practice facility, doesn’t have a contract. Johnston reached out to his agent who said the goal for him is to play and to win.
Johnston went on to say, I think there is one team in his mind and his heart and that’s the Boston Bruins. The Bruins do have Linus Ullmark signed for another three years at a $5 million AVV. They could send down backup goalie Jeremy Swayman if Rask is willing to sign this year for salary around $1 million.
Rask was quoted in the summer saying, “I would say I’m not looking for a $7 million contract anymore,” he said. “I just like to help the team out. I feel like I’m a veteran goalie and there are some young guys coming in, so whatever I can do to help the guys out I will do it and end my career as a Bruin.
Rask has even left the door open to Team Finland for the Beijing Olympics.
