NHL trade rumors going around have the Edmonton Oilers showing interest in making a trade for Marc-Andre Fleury.

Things in Chicago have not gone as planned for the Blackhawks. After the offseason acquisitions of Seth Jones and Marc-Andre Fleury, the city had excitement and the team was thought to be playoff contenders. Now NHL trade rumors are making the rounds that Chicago could look to trade Fleury.

TSN insider Chris Johnston reports there are NHL rumors out there connecting Fleury to the Edmonton Oilers. A trade might not happen now, but closer to the 2022 NHL trade deadline.

Johnston went on to say, “I’m not saying it’s done”, but he noted that the Oilers need a left-shot defenseman and a goaltender “I think it’s reasonable to link Marc-Andre Fleury to Edmonton.”

If Fleury is open to a trade as he does have a 10 team modified no-trade clause, Fleury could like the idea of playing for a team that looks as good as the Oilers do this season and they really just need a legitimate playoff goalie to put them over the top.
