Now that Mattias Ekholm was signed to a contract extension by the Nashville Predators, NHL rumors are starting to circulate on what will the Nashville Predators do with Filip Forsberg?
You have to believe that if Forsberg is not signed by the NHL trade deadline 2022 the Preds will either look to trade him for assets or keep him as their own rental if they are in a playoff position.
Forsberg said he wasn’t sure whether negotiations would take place during the season or whether he would test the open market.
From the Nashville Tennessean, “I honestly don’t have a plan,” Forsberg said. “I’m just going to play. Obviously, guys sign early. For me, it’s just about playing. The only way I can put myself in the best position possible is by playing to the best of my abilities. … If that leads to a contract tomorrow or whatever, that’s just out of my hands.”
