Elliotte Friedman was on the Hockey Night in Canada broadcast and reports that a team interested in making a Timo Meier trade will be making a trade for his services this year and will not involve a contract extension as part of a trade.
Friedman went on to say the New Jersey Devils are all-in on Meier but it appears the Carolina Hurricanes are no longer interested.
