The St. Louis Blues have put in an offer for Timo Meier to the San Jose Sharks. Will another team make a better offer?

The St. Louis Blues are looking like they are buyers and sellers at this years NHL trade deadline. NHL trade rumors have swirled that the Blues have interest in a Jakob Chychrun trade but they are also looking to add another young forward.

Multiple NHL insiders have reported that the Blues are looking to add players in the 24-26 year old range to retool their team, they will not be rebuilding from scratch.

Blues close on trading for Timo Meier?

Darren Dreger was on TSN and reports that the St. Louis Blues have indeed put in an offer for Timo Meier. They have the assets in three first round picks, plus prospects.

Dreger went on to say in his TV hit that they are also looking to unload a defenseman at the trade deadline in the hopes of also making a Jakob Chychrun trade.

Dreger also stated that the Carolina Hurricanes, Winnipeg Jets and Vegas Golden Knights have interest in a Timo Meier trade.

What are fans saying about a Timo Meier trade to St. Louis?

Meier is a stud that can keep up with Jordan Kyrou & Robert Thomas. We sign him and manage to clear up some defense issues with it, namely signing Chychrun after moving some real-estate – next season is prettier

The trade is likely a done deal, contingent on him signing an extension. There is no way the Blues pull a move like that for him to not be guaranteed.

The Blues have the cap space to immediately re-sign him with Tarasenko and O’Reilly gone.
