The Detroit Red Wings are looking to be playoff contenders next season and in order for the team to make a big jump in the standings, they will have to make a big offseason move.
NHL trade rumors are making the rounds that the Red Wings are showing interest in Ottawa Senators forward Alex DeBrincat.
Alex DeBrincat headed to the Detroit Red Wings?
Alex DeBrincat is a restricted free agent this summer and with him having an underperforming year in Ottawa, a change of scenery is what might be needed for DeBrincat.
He put up 66 points (27g, 39a) in 82 games last season which was a down year for him and his +/- rating of -31 is not to desirable for a player that wants $9 million/year.
The Detroit Red Wings are seeking offensive help and DeBrincat could be the perfect fit for the Red Wings. If the Senators are not seeking a player-for-player trade, Detroit has the draft pick/prospect assets to make a trade.
