Frank Vatrano, Anaheim Ducks forward, celebrates a goal
Could Frank Vatrano be Broadway-bound again? Latest NHL trade rumors suggest Rangers may target Ducks' scorer.

The New York Rangers, always aggressive around the NHL trade deadline, appear to be on the hunt for scoring reinforcements. According to Mollie Walker of the New York Post, the team has shown interest in re-acquiring Frank Vatrano from the Anaheim Ducks.

Vatrano had a successful stint with the Rangers before being traded away during the 2021-22 season. His current contract runs through the 2024-25 season with a manageable $3.65 million cap hit, making him a potentially attractive target. However, acquiring a player with term left on his deal won’t come cheap, and this could prove to be a stumbling block in the negotiations.

Rangers Seek Scoring Boost, Vatrano Reunion Possible?

This season, Vatrano has been a potent scorer for the rebuilding Ducks, amassing 49 points (29 goals and 20 assists) in 62 games. His offensive production would certainly bolster a Rangers attack that has been occasionally inconsistent.

The Rangers’ motivation for this move is clear. Despite a solid season overall, adding a consistent scoring threat like Vatrano could be the missing piece for a deeper playoff run. It remains to be seen if the Blueshirts and Ducks can agree on a price that works for both sides.
