Will the Washington Capitals trade for Matt Duchene?

The Fourth Period: The Washington Capitals need to make a big move to solidify a playoff spot. Patrick Greissing suggests the Capitals sends Marcus Johansson, Dmirty Orlov, Daniel Winnik and a first-round pick to Colorado. In return the Avalanche trade to Washington Matt Duchene, Fedor Tyutin, and a second-round pick. This would provide the Capitals with a top-six forward in Duchene that is capable of playing center or the wing, and decent third pairing defenseman, plus they would create $1.4 million in salary cap space for a later move at the trade deadline.

What will the Leafs do if they are in playoff contention at the trade deadline

The Hockey News: What will the Toronto Maple Leafs management do if they’re still in playoff contention by the March 1 trade deadline. Will they risk jeopardizing their post-season chances by shopping veteran forwards such as James van Riemsdyk, Leo Komarov and Tyler Bozak for assets to continue their rebuilding process?
Should the Leafs remain in the playoff chase by March 1, they could turn into buyers. They could retain those key veterans and seek rental players that are affordable in salary and return to boost their post-season hopes. Should van Riemsdyk hit the trade block, the Leafs could want a top-four defenseman in return. The asking price for Bozak and Komarov could be second-round draft picks.
