Tyler Myers NHL Trade Rumors October 11, 2018
Will the Winnipeg Jets trade, re-sign or let Tyler Myers walk as a free agent?

Should the Winnipeg Jets trade Tyler Myers?

SB NationTyler Myers’ time in Winnipeg may be coming to an end as he is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2018-2019 NHL season.

There has been no word yet from management on whether the Winnipeg Jets will try and re-sign Myers, 28, trade him, or let him walk in free agency.

Myers is not worth another expensive long-term contract for the Jets. At the seasons end the Winnipeg Jets already have multiple restricted and unrestricted free agents to deal with.

The Jets could keep Myers for a playoff run or let other teams know he is available at the 2019 NHL Trade Deadline and see what the team could get for him?

What will the Vancouver Canucks do with Alexander Edler?

Fansided: Defenceman Alexander Edler is entering the final year of his contract, and the Vancouver Canucks have to decide if they’re going to extend him, or if the 32-year-old should be shopped at the trade deadline.

Complicating matters, should the Canucks look to deal him, is that Edler has a no-movement clause.  Edler has made it clear he wants to stay in Vancouver. But given his injury history and age, you do wonder if the front office shares the desire to keep him here beyond 2019.

“If something can be worked out, I would love to stay here. Even though we’ve had some tough years, this is kind of an exciting thing to go through,” Edler said. “There’s change and a lot of young guys are coming in. You see how they are developing. There’s nothing now, but we’ll see. We’ll see what happens. All I can do is play good hockey.”
