Noah Hanifin NHL trade rumors
Could the Toronto Maple Leafs make a trade for Carolina Hurricanes defenceman for Noah Hanifin.

Will the Carolina Hurricanes make a trade?

The News & Observer: Will the Carolina Hurricanes’ front office do something, either a coaching change or a trade, to shake up their struggling roster. The Canes have won only once in their last seven games and sit last in the Metropolitan Division. The Hurricanes still lack depth at center and have too many perimeter wingers. Will the Hurricanes trade one of their young defenceman to get a center? Would the Leafs trade Nazem Kadri + a prospect to get one of Carolina’s defenceman (Noan Hanifin)?

Will Matt Duchene re-sign with the Ottawa Senators?

The Athletic: James Gordon suggests there’s a chance Matt Duchene won’t re-sign with the Ottawa Senators when his contract expires in 2019. However, there’s also a chance he could. If he doesn’t, Gordon thinks the Sens could move Duchene next season to recoup some of the assets they gave up to acquire him.

Edmonton Oilers are looking to make a trade

The Fourth Period: The Edmonton Oilers have made it known to the rest of the League that they’re interested in making a move or two to help boost their offense. The Oilers have just over $10 million in available pro-rated salary cap space, to date, and have the flexibility to add a significant contract to their roster. GM Peter Chiarelli, while active, may need to be patient in his search as other teams determine what route they want to take.
