Nail Yakupov
Will Nail Yakupov be traded to the Chicago Blackhawks or Pittsburgh Penguins?

Will Nail Yakupov finally be traded?

TSN: Bob McKenzie is reporting that the Chicago Blackhawks are interested in making a trade for Nail Yakupov. McKenzie states:

Regarding Nail Yakupov to Chicago Blackhawks trade rumors, my understanding as follows: Chicago has had talks with Edmonton on Yakupov, could still have interest in him…

Edmonton would obviously need to take back salary in a Yakupov deal with Chicago and while Bowman-Chiarelli did talk Yakupov trade, nothing too recent.

Pittsburgh Post Game: Dan Kingerski wonders if the Pittsburgh Penguins, who took on a fading Justin Schultz from the Edmonton Oilers last season, would be interested in Nail Yakupov. He reports Oilers scouts have taken in several Penguins preseason games. Yakupov’s $2.5 million salary, however, would be an issue, as the Penguins have about $1 million in cap space for the upcoming season.

If the Oilers want to trade yakupov, they will likely have to retain a portion of his salary for a trade to happen.

Cam Fowler likely to be traded

TSN: Pierre LeBrun reports the Anaheim Ducks will have to shed salary once they re-sign restricted free agents Hampus Lindholm and Rickard Rakell. LeBrun feels defenseman Cam Fowler ($4 million cap hit) is the likeliest to be dealt, noting a number of clubs were interested in Fowler at this year’s NHL Entry Draft.
