nhl trade rumors june 9 2017 - Jonathan Drouin
Will Jonathan Drouin be traded to the LA kings?

NHL trade rumors June 9, 2017:

Where will Sam Gagne sign?

Sam Gagner is in line for a multiyear deal with a considerable raise (He made $650,000 last year). However, he might not get it from the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets have over $70 million invested in 22 players for 2017-18. Contending clubs in need of an affordable centre or the wing with good playmaking skills, such as the Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators and San Jose Sharks, could have an interest in Gagner.

Are the LA Kings interested in Jonathan Drouin?

Jonathan Drouin, Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat are all in need of new contracts, and the Tampa Bay Lightning needs to obtain a backup goaltender and GM Steve Yzerman wants to improve his team’s defensive corps. They aren’t able to do all of these things with limited salary cap space. The Fourth Period reports the Lightning are engaged in trade talks involving Drouin and the Los Angeles Kings are among the teams in the mix. While other teams have inquired about Drouin’s availability, talks with Los Angeles are believed to center around Drouin and Kings defenseman Jake Muzzin, with additional assets being discussed.

Will the Habs trade for Matt Duchene?

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman appeared on Edmonton’s 630 CHED where he discussed possible trade destinations for Colorado Avalanche center Matt Duchene. When asked about the possibility of the Avs shipping Duchene to the Montreal Canadiens for Alex Galchenyuk, Friedman said he believes it’s more than likely the Habs will try to trade Galchenyuk though it’s not 100 percent he’ll be moved. Friedman also suggested the Ottawa Senators as a possible destination for Duchene.
