Derick Brassard trade rumors
Will the Ottawa Senators trade Derick Brassard?

Winnipeg Jets interested in Senators Derick Brassard

Winnipeg Sun: Ken Wiebe reports the Winnipeg Jets should be buyers before the 2018 NHL trade deadline. He notes the roster doesn’t have much playoff experience and could benefit from adding a scoring winger or center. He feels Ottawa Senators center Derick Brassard could be an enticing trade option.

Chicago Blackhawks could seek goalie help

Chicago Sun-TimesCorey Crawford remains sidelined indefinitely with vertigo-like symptoms and there’s growing concern he could miss the remainder of the season. Mark Lazerus suggests possible goaltending options could include Buffalo’s Robin Lehner, Detroit’s Peter Mrazek, the New York Islanders’ Jaroslav Halak or Arizona’s Antti Raanta

Teams calling the Ottawa Senators about Dion Phaneuf

TSN: Darren Dreger reports there’s peripheral interest in Ottawa Senators defenseman Dion Phaneuf, who carries a $7 million annual cap hit through 2020-21. Phaneuf carries a 12-team trade list. “It’s one of those things where teams are always looking for experienced defencemen, they just don’t like the contract,” said Dreger. If Phaneuf is traded at the 2018 NHL trade deadline, the Sens might have to pick up part of his cap hit to get it done.
