Adrian Dater: Matt Duchene is basically just waiting to see if he gets traded before the start of training camp. If he’s not traded by then, “he’ll cross that bridge then” about whether he’ll report to training camp or not. One of the issues is GM Joe Sakic is asking too much for Duchene. Duchene’s value has gone down. He only had 3 goals in the last 39 games last year. He had a bad World Championships and Sakic wants the best for his team and will not trade Duchene unless he gets what he wants.

Sportsnet 960 radio: Elliotte Friedman was on Sportsnet 960 and was talking about the Detroit Red Wings and what assets they have that might help them with their rebuild. Friedman notes that Mike Green is in the last year of his deal and if he’s playing well, there will be lots of interest. Green might not be only player teams are interested in “I’ll tell you this: I wonder about a guy like Riley Sheahan, if he gets dealt,” continued Friedman. “There are a lot of people who really think that last year it was not that guy, that there’s a lot more there. I think even the Red Wings felt there was a lot more there.
