Erik Karlsson trade rumors
Will the Ottawa Senators trade Erik Karlsson?

Will the Ottawa Senators start the rebuild?

The Fan 590: Elliotte Friedman was on the radio discussing the Ottawa Senators. He feels if the team does not turn things around soon, Ottawa Senators management will have to sit down with Erik Karlsson and decide if he has a future with the Senators. He is due for a new contract for the 2019-2020 season and he will want $10-11 million/year. The question is, are the Senators willing to pay that amount since they are a budget team? The Sens also have to re-sign Mark Stone and Codi Ceci next year, will they have room to sign him? Should the Senators trade Karlsson soon and get a maximum return back now? The Sens have a tough decision to make in the near future.

Where will John Tavares go?

ESPN: With New York Islanders center John Tavares eligible for unrestricted free agency next July, Greg Wyshynski lists eight destinations where he could end up. Among them is the New York Islanders, along with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings, San Jose Sharks, New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks. If he does not re-sign with the Islanders, The Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens and San Jose Sharks are the likely destinations. Craig Button also stated earlier in the year that Tavares could sign a 1-year deal with the Leafs before Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner are due big raises for the 2019-2020 season.

Detroit Red Wings likely to trade Mike Green

Detroit Free Press: Helene St. James was asked if the Detroit Red Wings would move pending UFA defenseman Mike Green at the trade deadline for “a solid draft pick.” She feels Green should attract a nice return, noting Brendan Smith last year fetched a second-round and a third-round pick. His offensive skills could make him attractive for playoff contenders.

  1. You think Toronto has room for Tavares? This is why nobody gives your site credibility.

Who are your sources? Do you have any? Probably not; therefore you make up rumors so people will read your lies…

    • Dan, from what I see in the article, his post is referenced from sources. Your eyes might need to be checked or you are a disgruntled Habs fan.

I do doubt the Leafs sign Tavares to a 1-year contract, but you never know?
