The Globe and Mail: Steven Stamkos could leave the Tampa Bay Lightning via free agency in July. James Mirtle cites the apparent dislike between Stamkos and Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper, who was recently re-signed to a contract extension. It’s widely believed Lightning GM Steve Yzerman investigated the possibility of trading Stamkos before his no-movement clause kicked in this past July.
Blue Jackets could make trades soon
TSN: Darren Dreger claims some in the league believe Columbus Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen could try to move out some veteran players. Dreger notes forwards Ryan Johansen and Scott Hartnell are among those who’ve been bandied about in the rumor mill this season.
