The Fourth Period: The Carolina Hurricanes could make a number of significant roster changes this off-season, as GM Ron Francis appears open for business. It’s believed several teams have already approached Francis about Eric Staal and Cam Ward and price tag for getting a trade completed.
The Hockey News: Is it possible Toronto Maple Leafs forward Phil Kessel gets traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins? Joe Starkey of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review believes acquiring Kessel is something the Penguins should consider. Starkey believes the Leafs would have to absorb part of Kessel’s contract or take back someone like Chris Kunitz ($3.85 million annually for two more seasons) or Rob Scuderi.
