The Hockey News: Edmonton Oilers management could be in the market for help between the pipes. TSN’s Darren Dreger suggests they could seek a netminder if their current tandem fails to improve. Ilya Bryzgalov, Martin Brodeur and Tomas Vokoun are options. Toronto’s James Reimer and Winnipeg’s Ondrej Pavelec are no longer available for a trade.

CSNNE.com (Joe Haggerty): I think dealing Loui Eriksson is the right move, but you have to wonder how high his value is around the league after the way he’s played in Boston. He was around 15 goals and 45 points last season and he’s on pace to score around 15 goals and 45 points again this season. Dustin Byfuglien is a target for the Bruins.

Nichols on Hockey: “Lupul’s name has been out there in the past. And now we go down that slippery road of, ‘Okay, is Toronto shopping him? Were they shopping him? Were they just listening, or throwing his name in potential trade scenarios?’ And for me, I think it’s the latter. I know that teams have inquired on Joffrey Lupul in the past. I don’t believe that they have yet this season. It’s still relatively early.
