Rick Nash

The Hockey News: As reported earlier by Larry Brooks of the New York Post, TSN’s Bob McKenzie thoughts on the New York Rangers exploring the possibility of trading Rick Nash.

McKenzie notes the Rangers’ limited salary-cap space for 2015-16 and their need to re-sign restricted free agent center Derek Stepan and left winger Carl Hagelin. He notes that Nash, who has three years remaining on his contract at an annual cap hit of $7.8 million, still has a full no-trade clause. However, it will become a partial NTC on July 1.

TSN.ca: The Arizona Coyotes are open to trading the 3rd overall pick in this years NHL draft. Speaking at the Coyotes ‘State of the Union’ press conference, general manager Don Maloney revealed three teams have already called about their third overall pick in the upcoming draft and said they are “open for business.” Bob Mckenzie has Noah Hanifin going 3rd overall in his final NHL draft rankings.

The Score.com: The LA Kings will try again this summer to trade LA Kings forward Mike Richards. Pierre LeBrun of ESPN states:

The Kings would dearly love to move Richards’ contract, which still has five more years on it at a $5.75 million cap hit. But to do that, they will need to sweeten the pot by adding another asset. Whether that’s a draft pick of value, a player or a prospect, the Kings will need to entice another team with another asset or two if they want to get a deal done.
