Picture of Dan Vladar. Will the Lightning target Flames, Leafs or Penguins backup goalies?
The latest NHL trade rumors for the Tampa Bay Lightning have the team interested in the Flames, Leafs, and Penguins' backup goalies.

With the shocking news that the Tampa Bay Lightning will be without superstar goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy until December, NHL trade rumors are making the rounds on who the team could trade for.

One goalie that hockey fans feel the Lightning should target is Calgary Flames goalie Dan Vladar.

Flames, Leafs, and Penguins backup goalies options for the Lightning

Dan Vladar is the perfect option for Tampa, but they have no draft assets to offer the Flames and don’t have cap space to take on his salary. Vladar’s $2.2 million salary cap hit with the Calgary Flames is too high for the Lightning to absorb.

The Lightning are expected to target either Martin Jones of the Toronto Maple Leafs or Magnus Hellberg of the Pittsburgh Penguins on the waiver wire this weekend.

What are NHL fans saying about Calgary Flames goalie Dan Vladar?

The Lightning should forget about Vladar, Jones and Hellberg and target Habs goalie Cayden Primeau.

Calgary is not giving away Vladar and the Lightning do not have the draft picks to offer the Flames in a trade.

We will take the Lightning’s 2026 first round pick and call it a deal!
