Johnny Gaudreau seeks $8 million per season on a long-term deal

Calgary Sun: Johnny Gaudreau is seeking a long-term deal worth $8 million/year. Eric Francis reports there’s about a $1.5 million gap in contract talks between the Flames and Gaudreau. The Flames prefer something between $6.35 million (which Gaudreau’s linemate Sean Monahan recently agreed to) and $6.75 million. Francis doubts Gaudreau will withhold his services or play overseas for a year.

Tampa Bay Times: There has been lots of speculation that the Tampa Bay Lightning will have to trade either Ben Bishop or Andrei Vasilevskiy before the trade deadline due to the expansion draft after the season. Bishop was almost traded to the Calgary Flames, GM Steve Yzerman will start the season with both goalies and one will most likely be traded by the 2017 NHL trade deadline.

Will Carlo Colaiacovo sign with a KHL team?

Igor Eronko: Unable to get a contract from an NHL Team. Rsport is reporting that defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo has offers from two KHL teams.
