TSN.ca: Darren Dreger is reporting teams are continuing to contact the Columbus Blue Jackets about center Ryan Johansen, one GM claims he is “softly in play.” Dreger claims Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen isn’t actively shopping Johansen, but he’s asking them what’s their offer. If the right offer comes along, Dreger feels he’ll consider it.
Senators trying to trade Colin Greening
TSN.ca: GM Bryan Murray is still trying to trade Colin Greening. He tried to in the off-season with no luck. Darren Dreger thinks if the Sens throw in a prospect, they might be able to trade Greening. Greening’s $2.6 million annual cap hit is a sticking point, but adding a prospect might increase interest.
Chicago Blackhawks interested in Oilers Nikita Nikitin
Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman reports the Chicago Blackhawks could be kicking the tires on Edmonton Oilers defenseman Nikita Nikitin. Friedman guesses the Blackhawks would consider it if the Oilers were willing to take back someone with term left on their contract. He assumes that might be defenseman Trevor Daley.
