The Score: The Colorado Avalanche core is on watch after last-place start. Any one of the Avs six core players, namely Matt Duchene, Gabriel Landeskog, Nathan MacKinnon, Tyson Barrie, Erik Johnson, and Semyon Varlamov could be traded to shake things up. Duchene’s name is the one most mentioned in trade rumors and most likely to be moved if a trade is to happen.
Buffalo looking for a defenceman in return for Evander Kane
The Fourth Period: The Buffalo Sabres are willing to move Evander Kane if they get the right defenseman in return. The Vancouver Canucks had expressed interest in Kane, and the New York Islanders also showed interest in the 25-year-old. Kane has one-year left on his contract that pays him $6 million in actual salary, though his salary cap hit is $5.25 million.
Leafs looking to trade Peter Holland
The Hockey News: The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to part ways with center Peter Holland. Holland’s agent, Joe Resnick, said Leafs GM Lou Lamoriello intends to trade his client. Lamoriello also decided the 25 year old wouldn’t accompany the club on its current road trip.
