Could the Avalanche and Hurricanes make a trade
Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman suggests the Carolina Hurricanes are a logical trading partner for the Colorado Avalanche. The Hurricanes carry depth in good young defensemen. Avs forwards Gabriel Landeskog and Matt Duchene are carrying term on their contracts, which is usually what the Hurricanes prefer. The Hurricanes also have sufficient cap space to take on someone such as Duchene, who could fill their need for a true top-line center.
Will the Minnesota Wild make a trade for a forward?
TSN: Pierre LeBrun reports the Minnesota Wild are very deep at defense and prefer to keep it that way, but they stand to lose a good player via the expansion draft in June. However, GM Chuck Fletcher won’t trade a defenseman before the trade deadline. He feels they could be in the market for a forward, but not at the expense of one of their blueliners.
Will the St. Louis Blues look for goaltending help?
The Hockey News: Jake Allen was recently pulled for the second time in four games and his struggles this season have reached their height. The Blues could consider making a stop-gap acquisition if he can’t right the ship before the NHL trade deadline rolls around. Option for the Blues are Marc-Andre Fleury, Ben Bishop or even bring back Ryan Miller for another playoff run.
