Meanwhile, K’Andre Miller, a pending restricted free agent, has also surfaced in trade rumors. Miller, a dynamic two-way defenseman still on the rise, was cautious when asked about his future. “I love New York,” Miller said. “I wouldn’t want to play anywhere else right now.”
Reading between the lines, Miller’s preference is clear: he wants a contract extension and to stay a Ranger. Given his age and potential, it would be a massive mistake for Drury to move him unless an elite forward comes back in return. My take: it’s more likely Miller re-signs on a bridge deal while Kreider’s future remains murkier.
Final Word: The Rangers must tread carefully this offseason. Blowing up the roster without a clear path forward could set the organization back years. Keeping cornerstone pieces like Miller while managing veterans like Kreider will be critical to getting back into contention.
