Toronto Maple Leafs Frederick Andersen

The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded for restricted free agent goaltender Frederik Andersen from the Anaheim Ducks. In return, Toronto sent the No. 30 overall pick this year (acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins as part of last summer’s Phil Kessel trade), and a second-round selection in 2017 to the Ducks.

The Leafs immediately signed Andersen to a five-year contract. The new deal is worth an average of $5 million a season over the full term.

Puckmeplease.com posted that the Toronto Maple Leafs were interested in Frederick Andersen just 4 days ago.

All of Leaf nation will now be waiting to see if Steven Stamkos signs with the Leafs?
