The Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to make some moves this offseason as they try to find some more salary cap space for free agent signings.

Dave Pagnotta of The Fourth Period is reporting as the Leafs prepare for today’s free agent frenzy, NHL Rumors have them still exploring the trade market on Alex Kerfoot.

Kerfoot, 26, has 2-years left on his contract with a $3.5M AAV. He had eight goals and 23 points in 56 games last season. Kerfoot had one goal and six points in seven games in the Maple Leafs’ first-round series against the Montreal Canadiens.

Pierre LeBrun is reporting that the Leafs have a serious interest in Philipp Grubauer. If the Colorado Avalanche cannot re-sign him, the Leafs would have to move out Kerfoot for the much needed cap space to sign Grubauer.
