The Anaheim Ducks will try and trade for Ryan Kesler before the NHL draft.

The Ducks have the assets to get a deal done. New Vancouver Canucks GM Jim Benning said he’ll speak with Kesler this week to get a feel if he wants to stay or go to a contender.

What the Ducks have to offer: One of their two first round picks (No. 10 and 24). They could add Mathieu Perreault and one of Kyle Palmieri, Emerson Etem, Rickard Rakell or Luca Sbisa.

The Canucks may rather want Nick Bonino. Devante Smith-Pelly is likely not available. Anaheim owns the Senators 10th overall pick this year.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will also make a pitch for Kesler, but they do not have the assets the Ducks can offer.
