Like the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vegas Golden Knights, the LA Kings have started the season of slowly and are looking to make a trade for a depth defenceman.

Pierre LeBrun was on TSN’s Insider Trading and reports with Drew Doughty out two months and Sean Walker done for the season, the Kings are looking outside the organization for help.

LeBrun went on to say, GM Rob Blake is working the phones looking for, at least, a depth defenceman for the right side.

The Kings, who have just under $150,000 in salary cap space, can shelve Walker’s $2.6 million cap hit on long-term injured reserve. Doughty will be back in 6-to-8 weeks so that’s why they can’t just go out and replace his $11 million cap hit.
