Juraj Slafkovský has officially reached the stage where fantasy hockey managers should stop looking at him strictly as a player with upside. The Montreal Canadiens winger has already arrived as a legitimate fantasy asset, and I believe his biggest offensive season could still be ahead of him.
After producing a career-high 30 goals and 43 assists for 73 points over 82 games in 2025-26, Slafkovský enters the 2026-27 NHL season surrounded by one of the most exciting young offensive cores in hockey. My projection has the 22-year-old taking another significant step with 34 goals, 52 assists and 86 points.
That would represent a 13-point increase, but the situation around him makes that jump realistic rather than wishful thinking.
Nick Suzuki has developed into an elite offensive center. Cole Caufield gives Montreal an established goal-scoring threat. Ivan Demidov adds another dynamic playmaker capable of creating seams through a defense, while Lane Hutson has become the puck-moving engine from the blue line.
Put Slafkovský in the middle of that group on Montreal’s power play and there is a legitimate path toward his first 80-point season, and potentially much more.
Juraj Slafkovský Fantasy Hockey Projection for 2026-27
My projected stat line for Slafkovský is:
Projected 2026-27 stats: 34 goals, 52 assists, 86 points
I would put his reasonable fantasy range at approximately 80 to 90 points, assuming he remains healthy and maintains his premium offensive role.
His ceiling is even more interesting. If Montreal’s power play becomes one of the NHL’s better units and Slafkovský pushes his individual production another level, a run toward 90-plus points is not out of the question.
Why Slafkovský Could Take Another Fantasy Hockey Leap
The biggest reason I am bullish on Slafkovský isn’t simply his age. It is opportunity combined with the quality of the players around him.
Suzuki can distribute the puck from virtually anywhere in the offensive zone. Caufield forces penalty killers to respect his shot. Demidov gives the Canadiens another player capable of beating defenders and creating something out of nothing. Hutson’s movement from the point makes Montreal much more difficult to defend because he refuses to remain stationary.
Slafkovský can consequently occupy the areas where his size, hands and finishing ability become especially valuable.
For fantasy managers, that’s an excellent combination.
Another thing I like about Slafkovský is that his fantasy value does not have to rely entirely on assists. He has now demonstrated legitimate 30-goal ability. If he can maintain that scoring level while adding another eight to 10 assists through improved power-play production and Montreal’s developing offense, the math starts pointing toward the mid-80s very quickly.
My personal observation is that Slafkovský is entering the phase of his career where fantasy managers could actually undervalue him because his name has already been around for several seasons. It is easy to forget how young he still is.
The former first-overall pick will only be 22 years old when the season begins. The Canadiens aren’t asking him to carry an inexperienced rebuilding roster anymore. They are building an increasingly dangerous offensive group around him.
That difference matters.
My Fantasy Hockey Verdict on Juraj Slafkovský
I have Slafkovský projected for 34 goals, 52 assists and 86 points in 2026-27, making him a player I would be comfortable targeting as a high-end fantasy left winger.
His floor is becoming safer, his power-play situation is excellent, and there is still enough development runway for another meaningful jump.
If you’re drafting based solely on last season’s 73 points, you could be missing the bigger story. Slafkovský’s next step may be going from breakout player to one of Montreal’s most dependable point producers.
