Florida Panthers interested in Jonathan Bernier
TSN 1040: Pierre Lebrun is reporting the Toronto Maple Leafs did get some trade calls on goalie Jonathan Bernier. The Florida Panthers are thought to have “kicked the tires” on Bernier, possibly as a backup for Roberto Luongo. With Bernier’s salary of $4.15 million, the Leafs will likely have to retain some salary for a trade to happen or take a bad contract back.
Kevin Shattenkirk expects the St. Louis Blues to trade him
St. Louis Post Dispatch: Kevin Shattenkirk believes that he won’t be a St. Louis Blue much longer. In fact, the defenseman’s agent is surprised that he’s still with the club. The problem is GM Doug Armstrong’s asking price is very high. Armstrong wants Jonathan Drouin for the Tampa Bay Lightning, it is reported that he wanted Dylan Larkin from the Detroit Red Wings and the Oilers 4th overall pick which turned out to be Jesse Puljujärvi.
The Edmomton Oilers are trying to trade Nail Yakupov
The Fourth Period: The Edmonton Oilers are trying to trade right wing Nail Yakupov, but GM Peter Chiarelli is not interested in simply giving him away. The Oilers could package him in a larger trade to fill various holes. The Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens are teams that have interest in Yakupov.
