Florida Panthers interested in Jonathan Bernier

TSN 1040: Pierre Lebrun is reporting the Toronto Maple Leafs did get some trade calls on goalie Jonathan Bernier. The Florida Panthers are thought to have “kicked the tires” on Bernier, possibly as a backup for Roberto Luongo. With Bernier’s salary of $4.15 million, the Leafs will likely have to retain some salary for a trade to happen or take a bad contract back.

The Oilers could package him in a larger trade to fill various holes. The Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens are teams that have interest in Yakupov.
