Calgary Flames getting calls about availability of Jiri Hudler

TSN: Bob McKenzie is reporting the Calgary Flames are getting some calls on winger Jiri Hudler, who’s an unrestricted free agent this summer. With the Flames looking like they will miss the playoffs, Hudler could be moved as a playoff rental player. Hudler could likely fetch a draft pick and prospect in a trade.

Latest Andrew Ladd Rumors

TSN: Pierre LeBrun is reporting if Andrew Ladd doesn’t re-sign before the NHL trade deadline, many teams will be contacting the Winnipeg Jets on the asking price. LeBrun speculates the Florida Panthers could make a pitch, as Ladd played for GM Dale Tallon during their days with the Chicago Blackhawks. The Panthers have the salary cap space to add a rental player or two by the deadline. Tallon has said he’d like to add another forward to his scoring lines.

Columbus looking to make more trades

The Hockey News: Columbus Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen could make other moves before the trade deadline. Kekalainen is working the phones seeking a center to replace the departed Ryan Johansen. The Blue Jackets could will likely move out a couple of veterans with term remaining on their contracts. Left winger Scott Hartnell ($4.75-million annually through 2018-19) and defenseman Fedor Tyutin ($4.5 million through 2017-18) recently surfaced as possible trade candidates.
