NHL insider Frank Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff believes Kane’s behavior is rubbing the Oilers’ brass the wrong way, and that the team might need to explore moving him on. A trade is complicated by Kane’s two remaining years with an AAV of $5.125 million.
While Kane holds a no-movement clause, there’s a chance he could be open to waiving it this summer. A change of scenery might provide the fresh start he needs and allow him to maximize his playing time elsewhere.
