Dustin Brown of the LA Kings has been suspended two games for an elbow to the head of Minnesota Wild forward Jason Pominville.
Midway through the second period of the Kings’ 2-1 loss to the Wild, Brown caught Pominville in the head, knocking the Wild forward to the ice. He was woozy after the contact, had to be helped to the bench by a trainer and did not return to the game.
Brown, who was playing the puck at the time of the incident, stated that he was trying to brace himself for a hit that Pominville was getting set to deliver to the Kings’ captain, who was not penalized on the play.
