Picture of Alex DeBrincat. Will he be traded to the Detroit Red Wings?
Will the Ottawa Senators be able to sign Alex DeBrincat to a long-term contract or will he be traded to Detroit this offseason?

NHL trade rumors have been making the rounds that Ottawa Senators forward Alex DeBrincat might want out of Ottawa and seek a trade this summer.

DeBrincat, 25, is a restricted free agent who has arbitration rights where the Senators can qualify him on a one-year deal at $9 million. Sens management would rather sign DeBrincat to a long-term deal.

If no deal can be worked out, the Senators will look to trade Alex DeBrincat this summer.

Red Wings interested in Alex DeBrincat

Bobb Duff of Detroit Hockey Now reports the Detroit Red Wings are looking for some scoring help this summer and the Red Wings are paying attention to the DeBrincat situation in Ottawa.

Duff went on to say his piece that Alex DeBrincat would like to be traded and a trade could come at the 2023 NHL entry draft. He would fit the need that the Red Wings seek and he is a local Michigan boy.

What are Sens fans saying about a Alex DeBrincat trade?

Can we go to the Stanley Cup final with him? I don’t think he is worth $9 million/year.

We need a goalie. Trade him and get some draft assets!
