If the Philadelphia Flyers are out of a playoff position by the trade deadline, they could look at trading Claude Giroux.

NHL trade rumors are starting to circulate that this could be Claude Giroux’s last season with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Pierre LeBrun was on TSN’s Insider Trading and reports the Philadelphia Flyers mutually agreed at an off-season discussion that they would not look to extend Giroux, that they would all play out the year and see how they all feel.

LeBrun went on to say, still a chance he signs after the season; there’s no rush, but it is interesting, that unlike a lot of other prominent players that are entering their final year that they chose not to extend.

If the Flyers are out of a playoff position by the time the 2022 NHL trade deadline comes around, there is a good chance Philadelphia could trade him to a playoff contender. Giroux would have to waive his no-move clause for a trade to happen.
