Could Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Tony DeAngelo be headed back to the Carolina Hurricanes? The NHL Rumors mill is saying it is a possibility.
DeAngelo, 27, is a talented offensive defenseman with a powerful shot and good puck-handling skills. However, controversy likes to follow him around but he has cleaned things up in Philadelphia.
DeAngelo is having a solid season on a bad Flyers team with 34 points (10g, 24a) in 56 games played this year.
Hurricanes looking to make a Tony DeAngelo trade
Elliotte Friedman was on his 32 Thoughts Podcast and stated that the Carolina Hurricanes have interest in reacquiring Tony DeAngelo.
DeAngelo played well for the Hurricanes in the 2021-22 season where he put up 51 points (10g, 41a) in 64 games with a solid plus/minus rating of +30.
Friedman went on to say in his Podcast hit that Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher is seeking “reclamation projects” in return for DeAngelo.
