Rookie Brenden Kichton has signed a 3-year US$1.86 million entry level contract with the Winnipeg Jets.
Kichton, 21, was named the WHL’s defenceman of the year last season after recording 85 points (22 goals, 62 assists) in 71 games with the Spokane Chiefs.
The Spruce Grove, Alta., native had 67 goals, 201 assists and 143 penalty minutes over 333 career regular-season games with the Chiefs. He added three goals and 16 assists in 42 playoff games.
