The Boston Bruins are the top team in the NHL with a stellar 4 regulation losses in 35 games. Even with their excellent record they are looking to add to the center position to bolster their lineup for a long playoff run.
The Boston Bruins are tight against the salary cap so any trade will likely have to involve a roster player going back in any deal.
Will the Boston Bruins target a Sean Monahan trade?
Yvon Pedneault of TVA Sports reports Sean Monahan is attracting attention on the trade market with many playoff teams interested in acquiring the center.
Pedneault went on to say in his piece that he was told the Boston Bruins are currently looking to make a Monahan trade.
Monahan, 28, is currently on LTIR with a toe injury but he is due back in the lineup soon. He will be an UFA this coming offseason so he is purely a rental player.
Monahan does own a modified 10 team no-trade clause, but he would likely waive to be on a playoff contender.
In 25 games played this season he has amassed 17 points (6g, 11a) for the Habs.
