The New York Rangers keep locking up their core players for the long-term after signing defenceman Adam Fox to a seven-year, $66.5 million contract extension. Things could get tricky with the Rangers salary cap in the coming years when Alexis Lafreniere and Kaapo Kakko have to sign contract extensions.
Fox won the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s top defenceman last season, beating out Tampa Bay’s Victor Hedman and Colorado’s Cale Makar.
Fox led NHL defencemen with 42 assists and was second in points with 47 in 55 games last season.
