When the Buffalo Sabres made a trade for Matt Moulson, they figured they would flip him at the NHL trade deadline for a 1st round pick or more. That doesn’t appear like it will be a problem at all for new GM Tim Murray.
More than a dozen teams have contacted the Sabres about Moulson. He will be a lock to be moved before deadline, if not a lot sooner.
Moulson is clearly an enticing option. Not only is he productive — he leads the Sabres with 33 points this season and considering that’s Buffalo, it’s not bad at all — but he’s relatively cheap with a $3.13 million salary cap hit.
